Well, as our month break has drawn to a close
The summer hols went too quickly for me .France was great ..Stafford Uni. was
calling.Hell,I still have not done my latest diary..the band will go nuts.Well
better late than never. The strain of constant gigging has taken its toll on
my Ibanez guitar. The bridge had worn out causing massive self embarressment
as strings kept on breaking usually during 'Snowy Mountain'..two songs in!A
quick trip to Sounds Great in Heald Green[Stockport] frequented by none other
than Martin Barre whenever Tull are in town ,soon rectified the problem. It
is now good as new thanks to a fantastic job by their guitar tech - Matt. Eight
gigs of guitar abuse later and no string breakage.
Mid
September saw my return to uni and I am now obliged to make the week-end pilgrimage
from Stafford to Buxton in order to fulfil my gig obligations. At least I get
my underpants washed by my mum! I am no longer living in halls of residence.
I now live in a rented student accommodation in the outskirts of Stafford which
is great because there is much more freedom ( nobody checks up if you have not
done the washing-up etc). My second year course is much more interesting than
the first. I am now getting more hands on with synthesisers and recording techniques.
Just prior to commencing our autumn tour the band have been very busy in the
recording studio and two new albums will be published very soon. There still
remains a little work to do but now that I am away at uni again, my part is
finished. I am sure you will like the new albums, there really are quite good
but don’t take my word for it….buy them and find out for yourselves.
If you come and see us on our current tour, don’t be shy, we really like it
when you come up and talk to us, either during the interval or at the end of
the gig. Your feed-back is important to us.
See ya……Simon
